EMS rushed one person to the hospital suffering severe burns after an early morning fire tore through a house in Plainfield.
Heavy fire broke out inside of a two and a half story wood framed house located in the 200 block of Netherwood Avenue at around 1 a.m. sending firefighters and mutual assistance to the scene where they observed fire tearing through the structure.
Crews were able to knock down most of the flames in under an hour, but the fire caused significant damage to the home.
Medical officials listed the unidentified victim as serious but stable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
