Middlesex County officials announced that a Piscataway man has been arrested and charged with the stabbing of a man which resulted in his death on August 4 in the area of 58 School Street.
William Johnson, 40, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose for causing the death of Lawrence Darby, 32, also of Piscataway.
According to police, on Tuesday at approximately 10:15 p.m., Piscataway Police responded to multiple 911 calls regarding an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers located the victim in the driveway of 58 School Street with what appeared to be a significant stab wound to his upper-leg area.
The investigation revealed that Johnson had stabbed the victim during an altercation and then fled to his residence where he was subsequently apprehended.
According to police, the victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
