Authorities in Paterson have launched an investigation into an assault that left one person severely injured near a night club Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 115 Presidential Street to investigate reports of an assault in progress.
Police arrived at the scene and found over 100 people outside the club with one person suffering serious injuries at that location.
The unidentified victim was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and remains at the medical center according to reports. Police say at least one other person suffered non-life threatening injuries from the incident.
There were no arrests reported.
