New Jersey Transit officials have launched an investigation into an incident where a juvenile suffered a slash injury while at the light rail station on Saturday afternoon.
According to a statement released by NJ Transit spokesman June Smith, at approximately 4:25 p.m. police were called to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station after receiving reports of a fight that broke out between two males at that location.
Spokesman Smith said during the fight, one of the males produced a sharp object -possibly a knife- and stabbed the other victim to the torso causing a non-life threatening injury.
The victim, only identified as a juvenile, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors treated the minor injury according to spokesman Smith.
The victim is reportedly acquainted with the suspect who remains at-large spokesperson Smith said.
The incident did not cause any delays to the light rail system.
