Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a late-night train strike incident in the vicinity of East 28th Street and 19th Avenue when an individual was struck by a train.
The event occurred around midnight, prompting a response from emergency responders in Paterson.
Multiple reports were made regarding the incident, leading to fire and EMS dispatches to the location.
Upon arrival, responders found an unidentified person with severe injuries resulting from the collision with the train. Immediate medical attention was administered, and the injured individual was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment.
Officials from the Susquehanna Railroad were notified and requested to halt all rail traffic in the area.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has also been informed of the incident.
