Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating the motive behind a violent stabbing incident that occurred late Monday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 9:55 p.m., police were called to the vicinity of 1032 Flora Street to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police requested EMS on a rush after finding an unidentified person suffering a stab wound at that location.
Police said the victim was rushed to University Hospital in Newark for treatment and remain in serious condition.
According to police, there were no suspects at the scene when they arrived.
The incident is under investigation.
