An early morning incident where police found a person suffering a head injury inside a home in Newark is under investigation.
Authorities set up a crime scene around a house in the 100 block of Goldsmith Street at approximately 5 a.m. after they received calls reporting an injured person according to preliminary reports.
Upon officers' arrival, they found an unidentified person bleeding from the injury reports said.
EMS units were requested at the scene to transport the victim to University Hospital.
The extent of the victim's injuries were only reported as serious as of 5:22 a.m. Police have not confirmed how the victim obtained the injury at this time.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. There were no arrests immediately reported.
