Person Found Dead Inside Crashed Car Believed to Have Been Shot in Trenton

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has assumed responsibility for investigating a complex incident in Trenton where a person was found shot dead inside a crashed car.AdThe incident happened early Saturday morning, around 1:35 a.m., near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Farragut Avenue.

Trenton Police were initially called to the scene following reports of a car crash with trapped occupants.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle containing an adult driver and children. The children were quickly and safely extricated from the car without injuries.

However, the situation took a grim turn when emergency responders assisting the adult driver discovered he was bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

This discovery has led to a complex investigation as authorities work to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the crash and shooting.AdThe investigation remains active and ongoing, with no further details released at this time.
