WESTFIELD NJ: A person barricaded in a house in the 900 block of Grandview Avenue had a large police response on the scene shortly before 11 p.m.
The standoff had authorities encouraging residents to stay indoors until the situation was under control.
Police and negotiators were able to get the suspect out of the residence shortly after midnight according to reports.
It is not immediately clear if police injured the suspect, but one person was transported to the hospital by EMS with police units on board.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. police announced that the situation was under control and there was no threat to the community.
"Normal activities may resume, activity" reports said.
The incident is under investigation.
