Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Pemberton Township Police Chief David Jantas announced that a Pemberton Township man was charged with fatally attacking and stabbing his wife last night at their home in the Browns Mills section of the township.
Police say, Kenneth D. Arsenault, 59, of the single digit block of Cochita Trail, was charged with Murder, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and two counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
According to authorities, police were called to the home at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday night on a report of a woman screaming for help.
Upon arrival, Pemberton Township police officers found Arsenault on top of his wife on the ground outside of their residence.
He was taken into custody, and EMS transported Lorraine Arsenault, 61, to the Lourdes Emergency Department at Deborah in Browns Mills, where doctors pronounced her dead just before 11 p.m.
The motive for the attack is under investigation. Kenneth Arsenault was lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending a first appearance in Superior Court in Mount Holly.
The investigation is being conducted by the Pemberton Township Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
