Pemberton Mother Indicted on Murder Charges After Allegedly Setting Newborn on Fire

A Pemberton Township woman was indicted on murder charges today, after she allegedly set her newborn baby on fire. 

The 22-year-old Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder by her own conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

On January 16, Pemberton Township Police officers responded to Simontown Road at approximately 11:15 p.m. , after an area resident reported someone was lighting a fire on the road.

According to prosecutor, Dorvilier doused flammable spray lubricant WD-40 on the newborn before lighting her on fire.

The baby was airlifted to St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia where she succumbed to her injuries hours later. 

Dorvilier is at the Burlington County Corrections and Work Release Center on $500,000 bail, with no 10 percent option.

If convicted, Dorvilier would face a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
