There were non-life threatening injuries reported for a pedestrian struck by a car that left the scene in Newark's Central Ward on Tuesday.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened on the 16th Avenue side of The Cityplex Movie theater at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Police say a vehicle -believed to be a gold SUV- struck the unidentified male in the 100 block then sped away from the scene.
EMS arrived and treated the victim for a leg and back injury according to reports. Police say the driver was last driving on South 7th Street at remains at-large.
The incident remains under investigation.
