A pedestrian escaped with non-fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Newark's North Ward on Sunday night.
The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
An off-duty law enforcement officer came across the injured pedestrian and immediately alerted the authorities.
Emergency medical services (EMS) promptly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. Fortunately, the pedestrian is expected to recover from their injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by local law enforcement to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Authorities will be working to gather more details about the incident.
