Police are investigating circumstances surrounding a person struck by a vehicle on a busy roadway in Elizabeth late Monday night.
It happened on Route 1&9 at the intersection of East Grand Street shortly before 11 p.m.
Police and EMS found the seriously injured victim lying in the roadway after a vehicle struck them at that location.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of the severe injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
