A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a vehicle struck them at an intersection in Newark's Central Ward on Monday evening.
Police said shortly before 6:10 p.m., police and paramedics responded to reports of a person struck by a car at the intersection of Spruce Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering a head injury at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment while police remained to investigate the incident.
Police are looking into the cause of the pedestrian strike.
