Police in Maplewood are on the search for a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in the township then fled the scene.
First responders rushed to the area of Chancellor Avenue at 44th Street at around 1 a.m. on reports of a person injured after being struck by a vehicle at that location.
Medical crews arrived to the scene a short time later to find the victim suffering non-life threatening injuries.
Police began a search for a blue or black Chevrolet that possibly has windshield damage when it sped away from the scene according to reports.
The incident is under investigation.
