NJ State Police officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that severely injured a person on a highway in Hudson County Saturday morning.
According to reports, just before 2 a.m., police closed a section of I-280 eastbound near exit 16E - Essex Street in Harrison after they found a severely injured person lying in the roadway.
Police believe that the victim was struck by the vehicle at a high rate of speed while they walked in the middle of the highway.
The incident is under investigation and no other injuries were reported.
