Linden Police requested assistance from Clark to shut down a road after a pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a vehicle in Linden overnight.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened at approximately midnight in the 400 block of Raritan Road where police received reports of a person struck by a vehicle at that location.
Crews arrived at the scene to find the unidentified person pinned under the vehicle according to reports.
Firefighters and rescue crews were able to extricate the victim then hand them over to EMS who rushed them to an area hospital suffering life-threatening injuries.
The Union County Fatal Crash Investigation Team were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
