A man attempting to cross road last night was struck and killed by a car, police said.
Police responded to the intersection at Chambersbridge Road for a report of a pedestrian by a car at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the unidentified male pedestrian on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation revealed that a 1999 Toyota Camry -driven by 75-year-old Helen Walling of Toms River, was driving north of the intersection at Chambersbridge Road when she struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
