Linden Police closed East St. George Avenue in both directions between Lincoln and McCandless streets due to a motor vehicle accident that involved a pedestrian this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, just before 12:30 p.m., police were called to the scene to investigate a pedestrian strike.
When they arrived, units found a seriously injured person lying on the ground suffering severe injuries at that location.
The victim was transported to the hospital while police launched their investigation into what caused the incident.
