The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Monday, May 15.
According to Jersey City Police, at approximately midnight, officers were notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Newark Avenue and Coles Street. Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as a 35-year-old Jersey City resident – with severe injuries at the intersection.
Police say the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center, where he is currently in critical but stable condition.
