The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is leading an investigation into a pedestrian strike that left a person in life-threatening condition on Tuesday night.According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred on the northbound lanes of NJ-21 near mile marker 12.2.
Police and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a person down in the roadway.
Upon arrival, they found the man unconscious and unresponsive.
CPR was administered at the scene before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where they remained in critical condition.
The circumstances leading to the incident are still under investigation.
Authorities have not yet released further details.
