A pedestrian sustained severe injuries Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle on a busy stretch of NJ-36 in Hazlet.The incident occurred around 7:55 p.m. in the 700 block of the roadway.
Responding officers temporarily closed all northbound lanes as they attended to the victim, who was found critically injured at the scene.
Paramedics performed CPR before transporting the unidentified individual to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed.
A crash investigation team from Monmouth County has taken the lead in determining the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
The investigation remains active, and officials are urging drivers to exercise caution while traveling in the area.
