A pedestrian sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Newark’s North Ward on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. near 278 Mt. Prospect Avenue.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police and EMS found an unidentified individual lying unconscious and unresponsive on the ground after being hit by a vehicle.
CPR was administered at the scene before the victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment.
The incident is currently under investigation, and no further details have been released.
