The Elizabeth Police Department is investigating a severe pedestrian strike that left a person with life-threatening injuries late Tuesday night.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. in the vicinity of 552 Morris Avenue.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian unconscious and unresponsive.
Medical personnel administered life-saving CPR before transporting the individual to a nearby hospital.
Authorities reported that the victim sustained critical injuries.
