Early Saturday morning, a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Sayreville, prompting an immediate investigation in which the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office was notified.The collision occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of NJ-35, where police and EMS teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, responders found the victim lying on the ground with severe injuries. The identity of the injured person has not been disclosed.
Following the incident, police temporarily closed all lanes of NJ-35 to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash.The driver responsible for the hit-and-run fled the scene and is currently being sought by authorities.
As the investigation continues, law enforcement is urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in locating the suspect and to provide justice for the victim.
