Authorities in Sussex County are currently investigating a pedestrian strike incident that occurred overnight, leaving one person seriously injured.
Reports indicate that police were called to the scene in the 50 block of NJ-15 in Lafayette around midnight.
Upon arrival, officers found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, suffering severe injuries.
The victim was quickly transported to the hospital with a broken femur, among other injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation as local law enforcement works to determine the cause of the collision and whether any charges will be filed against the driver involved.
