Pedestrian Killed by Vehicle on NJ-35 in Sayreville

Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief John Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department said today that a pedestrian was killed last night in the Borough after being struck by a vehicle.

The man, whose identity has not been verified, was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday shortly after 8:00 pm.

The initial investigation by Patrolman Alvah Cox of the Sayreville Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the man was struck as he was crossing Route 35 in Sayreville.

The victim was struck by a vehicle as it was traveling in the left lane of Route 35 South near the divider.

An autopsy is pending with the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation is active and is continuing.
