NJ Transit Police officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that resulted in fatal injuries Sunday morning in Union County.
According to NJ Transit, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Raritan Valley Line train 5515, which departed Newark Penn Station at 9:38 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Raritan at 10:42 a.m., struck and fatality injured a pedestrian.
The collision happened just east of the Roselle Park station in the vicinity of Galloping Hill Rd.
NJ Transit officials said no injuries were reported to the 40 customers or the crew on board.
Raritan Valley Line service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Cranford and Newark but has since resumed.
