NJ Transit Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian strike in Paterson Thursday night.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., Main Bergen County Line train 65 which departed Hoboken at 7:57 p.m. and was set to arrive in Suffern at 8:37 p.m., struck an adult male pedestrian west of Paterson Station in Paterson.
Upon arrival, emergency responders searched the area and found an unidentified person injured after a train struck them at that location.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no injuries reported to 60 passengers and crew on the train.
