A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on US-9 in Howell Township, Monmouth County, on Saturday evening.
Emergency responders, including police, fire, and EMS, were dispatched to the area near Strickland Road shortly before 7:45 p.m. following reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, units found an unconscious and unresponsive male who had suffered severe injuries.
Despite efforts to assist, the unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Howell Township Police advised residents via social media to avoid the area while the crash investigation remains active.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the incident or the identity of the victim.
