A pedestrian struck and killed by a car in Toms River overnight has authorities investigating.
Police requested EMS on a rush after they found the victim suffering severe injuries in the vicinity of Robbins Parkway and East Water Street at around 7:35 p.m.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where doctors made the pronouncement a short time later.
Police are attempting to determine the official cause of the accident.
There were no arrests or summonses reported.
