A pedestrian struck by a vehicle overnight in Lakewood has police investigating a fatality.
According to authorities, the incident happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Cedarbridge Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, where police received reports of an injured person at that location.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found an adult male suffering life-threatening injuries according to authorities.
EMS rushed the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later authorities said.
Police are questioning the alleged driver after police said the vehicle left the scene immediately after fatally striking the victim.
Authorities are withholding the identity of the victim pending the notification of his family.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
