There is an investigation underway into a pedestrian hit and run incident that occurred in Newark on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Jackson and Ferry streets just before 9 a.m. for an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene found a person down in the roadway suffering injuries after a vehicle struck them then reportedly drove away from the scene.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital where their injuries were not immediately reported as life-threatening.
The driver of the car remains at-large.
