Authorities in Bergen County are investigating a tragic pedestrian strike that claimed the life of an individual in Paramus on Thursday evening.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the vicinity of 278 North Fairview Avenue shortly before 6:55 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, police and EMS personnel discovered an unidentified person lying unconscious and unresponsive on the roadway.
Despite efforts by medical personnel, including CPR, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are under active investigation by Bergen County officials.
