One person was pronounced dead in Hackensack after a vehicle struck them in a section of NJ-17 Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police and EMS responded to the area of 455 NJ-17 to investigate reports of a person struck by a car in the southbound lanes just before 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the unconscious and unresponsive victim lying on the ground suffering severe injuries after a vehicle struck the at that location.
Police say the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hackensack Officers temporarily closed all lanes while the Bergen County fatal crash investigation unit began to look into the cause of the incident.
There were no other injuries reported.
