A pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Newark has authorities investigating at this time .
Police responded to the East Peddie Street at Frelinghuysen Avenue shortly before 7:30 a.m. on reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Units arrived to find the victim laying in street suffering serious injuries.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The incident is being looked into by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
