The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is on the scene of a fatal pedestrian strike that occurred on New Egypt Road and Hillside Boulevard.
According to authorities, the victim was struck by a vehicle shortly before 7:45 p.m. sending police and EMS to the scene where they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive according to reports.
EMS rushed the patient to Monmouth Medical Center where they died a short time later.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
