Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Toms River on Sunday Evening

Toms River authorities are investigating a tragic pedestrian incident that claimed the life of an individual on Sunday evening.SupportThe fatal collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of NJ-166 and South Dakota Avenue.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene following multiple 911 calls reporting a person down in the roadway.

Upon arrival, crews found an unidentified individual lying unresponsive, suffering from severe injuries.

Medical personnel administered life-saving measures, including CPR, but the victim was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.

No additional injuries were reported in the incident. Toms River police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
