Ramsey Police and EMS rushed to the northbound 800 block of Route 17 after receiving reports of a person down in the roadway just before 6:30 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered that the victim had been struck by a car in the southbound lanes.
The unidentified individual tragically lost their life at the scene.
As Bergen County officials launch an investigation into the incident, commuters are urged to expect delays during the morning rush.
