Police in Paterson launched an investigation into a stabbing that left a person injured in the city on Monday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of McBride Avenue and Howard Street to look into reports of an injured person at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene found the male bleeding from his chest at that location, according to police.
Police say the victim was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and remains in serious but stable condition.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation. There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
