Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Paterson Saturday morning.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said at approximately 7:33 a.m., Paterson Police were dispatched to the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street on a report of shots fired.
According to Prosecutor Valdes, upon officers’ arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victim was found.
A short time later, a 24-year-old male Paterson resident at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center sought treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds via private vehicle.
Prosecutor Valdes said the victim is currently in critical condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
