Police responded to the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard near Hamilton Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. for reports of an armed robbery in progress when they arrived to find a male victim bleeding from the face after being slashed during the apparent robbery.
According to the victim, shortly before police arrived to the scene, an unidentified male victim approached him armed with a weapon and demanded cash and personal possessions.
When the victim attempted to hand over about $150, the suspect went on the attack with the weapon, slashing the victim in the face.
The slashing caused non-life threatening injuries according to reports.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction after taking the proceeds.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
