Paterson police are actively searching for a suspect involved in a shots-fired incident that occurred on one of the city’s streets Monday night.
According to authorities, a ShotSpotter device activated around 8 p.m., alerting officers to gunfire near 12th Avenue and East 26th Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered shell casings but found no immediate victims.
An alert was sent to area hospitals to monitor for any walk-in patients with gunshot wounds.
As of early Tuesday morning, no victims have been reported, and the suspect remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
