Paterson Police are in pursuit of a gunman following a shooting incident in a local neighborhood on Monday night.
The incident unfolded shortly after 9:30 p.m. near 377 Straight Street, prompted by alerts from a ShotSpotter device which detected around half a dozen gunshots.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene and quickly coordinated with St. Joseph's Hospital to identify any potential gunshot victims.
Fortunately, these checks returned negative, indicating that no individuals had been struck by the gunfire.
The suspect responsible for the shooting managed to escape and is currently being sought by the authorities.
The motivation behind this act of violence remains unclear, with investigations ongoing to uncover the details surrounding the incident.
Paterson Police will lead the investigation.
