An early morning police pursuit of a vehicle in Paterson had officers take two suspects into custody in the city's business district.
According to preliminary reports, police attempted to pull over a vehicle that was initially wanted for multiple traffic violations when the driver of the car refused to stop then sped away from police.
Police followed the vehicle to the intersection of Main and Van Houten street where the driver crashed then attempted to run from the scene with another occupant of the vehicle.
Officers were able to apprehend both suspects a short distance away.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
