Paterson Police Looking for Information on Fatal Beating of 39-Year-Old Man

Paterson

Police are asking the public to contact police with any information on the fatal beating of a 39-year-old man back in July.

On July 23 sometime around 4:20 a.m., the victim - Artis Felton - left the North 9th Street rooming house to catch his ride to work, according to police.

Felton - who recently began working at a cookie factory in Pennsylvania - walked daily a mile-and-a-half to meet his ride to the factory, however that morning he never made it to the stop, according to police. A passer-by found Felton unconscious sometime around 4:50 a.m. on Jefferson Street between North 1st and North Main streets.

Felton was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he died days later, police said.

Authorities are offering $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Major Crimes unit at 973-321-1120, or to provide information anonymously at 973-523-TIPS or by text at Patersonpd.com.
