The NJ Attorney General’s Office has been notified of a shooting that involved a police officer in Paterson on Sunday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 10 p.m., police began a search for several armed suspects in the area of 166 Pearl Street.
Reports say a police officer fired their weapon at one of those suspects after encountering in the neighborhood. Police say after the shooting, all of the suspects fled the scene and a search for the males was conducted for several hours.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office arrived on the scene to determine what occurred in the incident. There were no injuries reported.
The circumstances behind the shooting are under investigation.
