Paterson Police Investigate Gunfire on Pearl Street

Authorities in Paterson are investigating a shots-fired incident that prompted area hospitals to be placed on alert Wednesday night for potential walk-in gunshot victims.

According to officials, a ShotSpotter device activated around 9:40 p.m. in the vicinity of 171 Pearl Street, alerting police to possible gunfire in the area. 

Officers quickly responded and located evidence confirming that a shooting had occurred.

Despite a thorough search of the surrounding neighborhood, no victims were found at the scene. 

The suspected shooter fled the area and remains at large.

Police have not released further information, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Paterson Police.
