Paterson Officials Announce Crackdown on Illegal Nightclubs

At 11 a.m. today, the Honorable Mayor André Sayegh and Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi will announce a significant partnership to crack down on illegal nightclubs in Paterson.AdThis initiative is part of a broader effort to address crime hotspots and improve the quality of life for Paterson residents.

According to Paterson City officials, Illegal nightclubs have been identified as major contributors to crime and disturbances in the community.

Since March, the Paterson Police Department's enforcement actions have led to substantial results, including:

- 78 arrests, 379 criminal charges, and 244 administrative charges, 378 summonses issued, 1,973 bottles of illegal alcohol seized, Seizure of illicit narcotics, including heroin and cocaine, Over 480 inspections of various licensed establishments and after-hour venues, resulting in an estimated $110,000 in fines issued

Mayor Sayegh and Officer in Charge Abbassi will discuss the significant impacts of these enforcement actions, which have already begun to make a positive difference in the community.AdThey will also share future steps to ensure the safety and well-being of Paterson residents.

This partnership underscores the city's commitment to tackling illegal activities and creating a safer environment for all.
